About us

The London Buddhist Centre offers a path of ever-deepening meaning and value that, if we choose to take it up, will transform our mind – and our life.

All our events are designed to support you to make progress on this path. This includes learning and practising meditation, exploring Buddhism, and cultivating friendships.

You don’t need to be a Buddhist to get involved at the LBC. We aim to make the Buddha’s teaching accessible to everyone, and most of our events are suitable for those with no previous experience of meditation or Buddhism.

The London Buddhist Centre is at the heart of a varied and vibrant community of Buddhist practitioners in East London. We teach Buddhism and meditation in a way which is relevant to contemporary life. We host regular retreats at our rural retreat centre in Suffolk. See our full schedule.

In addition we run daily yoga classes, regular events for families, classes and retreats for sub-25s and people of colour, and evenings with well known artists at PoetryEast. Our Centre in Bethnal Green, also hosts school visits, Buddhist festivals and runs two charity shops. We are open Monday-Saturday, 10am-5pm. Drop in to look around the Centre, or to join a meditation class. We're also continuing to offer a number of events online.
