Low mood, depression, negative mental states are very common, perhaps particularly more so now, as we experience the consequences of Covid-19 crises. While low mood and depression can be treated with medication and psychological therapies, it can easily come back. The good news is that there are ways to help prevent relapse into these states. Clinical research has shown that Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) is one of the best approaches. MBCT is a meditation-based course that helps you become more aware of the habits of thinking that can lead into negativity, self-criticism, low mood and depression. Breathing Space London runs MBCT courses throughout the year and has adapted the MBCT model for an online format. The course draws on ideas from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help you challenge negative thinking.
