Often, people assume that showing kindness is passive or sentimental. But to be truly kind means to understand what is going on, and have the courage, strength and skill to act on that understanding.
Kindness Behaviour Training (KBT) is an eight-session course drawing on the ancient teachings and practices of Buddhism as well as modern psychological approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy and positive psychology. The programme is designed to cultivate states of well-being, resilience and freedom, including a foundation in mindfulness training.
Join us for four weeks this October to discover how kindness and mindfulness practice can transform your life. If you have suffered from depression, addiction, stress or anxiety, or if you've been adversely impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, this course should help you to stay well.
The course will explore: > Mindfulness and its benefits in relieving anxiety and low mood > Acting with kindness, cultivating forgiveness and gratitude > Generosity, skillful speech and helpful action in our relationships > Compassion-based meditation practices
The course will be led by Satyavasin, a counsellor, ordained Buddhist and one of Breathing Space’s senior teachers. It will be facilitated by a team of trained volunteers and hosted on the Zoom platform.
